Who Are We?
Child Find Specialists
Mrs. Terri Stoker, Child Find Specialist: Mrs. Stoker provides Child Find screenings, primarily in Santa Rosa County, in face-to-face or virtual formats depending on a family's need. She has served as a trainer in the Multi-Modal Emerging Language Development (MELD) program, and represents the project at various community and interagency events. Her prior experience includes many years of working with physically impaired and intellectually disabled ESE prekindergarten through fifth grade students at Holm Elementary School.
Mrs. Jenyne Strickland, Child Find Specialist: Mrs. Strickland provides Child Find screenings, primarily in Escambia and Okaloosa counties, in face-to-face or virtual formats depending on a family's need. She is the lead specialist for Adobe Connect DC applications supporting Child Find. Her prior experience includes managing a medical office, and serving as an ESE prekindergarten teacher at West Pensacola Elementary School.
Mrs. Jan Young, Child Find Specialist: Mrs. Young is the lead Child Find Specialist for FDLRS Emerald Coast, screening children primarily in Escambia and Okaloosa counties, in face-to-face or virtual formats depending on a family's need. She provides leadership and guidance to new Child Find staff both at FDLRS and within our districts. Her prior experience includes many years as an ESE prekindergarten teacher at Holm Elementary School.
Human Resource Development Specialists
Ms. Caty Andrews, Human Resource Development and Assistive Technology Specialist: Ms. Andrews is the lead trainer for personnel working with students on Access Points. She serves as the project contact for Assistive Technologies and provides training on various applications, software, and hardware to ensure students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities can utilize technologies to access general education and specialized content. She will become a lead trainer for MELD, working with Mrs. Stoker and selected ESE PreK teacher trainers, and for AT in the Classroom. Her prior experience includes teaching a variety of students with exceptionalities at the elementary level, with particular expertise in students served on access points. She has also served as an instructional coach and on RTI and MTSS committees.
Ms. Lynn Greene, Human Resource Development and Instructional Technology Specialist: Ms. Greene is the lead trainer for differentiating instruction and behavioral interventions, and provides coaching support in Positive Behavioral Intervention Support for Blue Angel Elementary and Workman Middle schools. She serves as the project contact for Instructional Technology, providing various trainings on applications and software to assist students with disabilities in included settings, and coordinates the center's Professional Development Alternatives (PDA) program. Her prior experience is at the elementary and high school levels, serving as an ESE teacher, inclusion teacher, department chair, and intervention specialist.
Mrs. MaKeysa Rhymer, Human Resource Development Specialist: Mrs. Rhymer is the lead trainer for reading and mathematics literacy, and conducts and/or assists with providing various differentiation and explicit instruction courses. She coordinates the PDA Differentiating Reading Instruction and Exploring Structured Literacy courses offered by FDLRS in collaboration with districts to assist with state reading requirements. She currently serves on the Bureau of Exceptional Student Education's literacy team. Her prior experience includes serving at the school level as an elementary ESE mentor teacher, multi-tiered systems of supports (MTSS) team leader, and reading coach, as well as developing literacy courses for state-wide literacy initiatives.
Florida Inclusion Network at FDLRS Emerald Coast
Mrs. Suzanne Day, Florida Inclusion Network Facilitator: Mrs. Day assists districts and schools in completing the tri-annual Best Practices in Inclusive Education, and provides numerous professional development offerings supporting the inclusion of students with disabilities. She serves as the lead trainer for Collaborative Teaching, Building Inclusive Schools, and Effective Instructional Practices. Her prior experience includes serving on the Florida Teacher Certification Exam Committee for PreK/Primary certification as well as the FCAT Norming and Cut Scores committees, teaching in elementary and secondary ESE units, and serving as a district reading coach.
Ms. Lyn Harris, Coordinator: Ms. Harris has prior experience as an ESE teacher at the middle and high school levels, focused on working with students with learning and emotional/behavioral disabilities. As a trainer at FDLRS prior to becoming project manager, primary responsibilities included various behavioral, learning modality, and strategic instruction trainings, collaborative facilitation of numerous statewide initiatives, provision of Kids on the Block puppetry, management of regional events, and grant writing. As the administrator for FDLRS Emerald Coast since January, 2001, she is responsible for the work of the project and ensuring equity of project services provided in Escambia, Okaloosa, and Santa Rosa counties. She has served as lead FDLRS manager for DOE Region 1, represented the network on the Bureau of Exceptional Student Education's behavioral team, written a previous autism endorsement program, and coordinated the PDA program from 2003 - 2021. She presently manages the Gifted and Autism endorsements available through FDLRS and serves as the parent services and gifted contact, and is the current webmaster.
Mrs. Jan Ireland, Administrative Secretary II: Mrs. Ireland provides Office Management services at FDLRS Emerald Coast, primarily handling payroll, purchasing, guest and telephone services, and library and production lab service.
