FDLRS Emerald Coast is pleased to provide data-driven training and support for parents and educators throughout Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties focused on improving outcomes for exceptional and gifted education students. Our Child Find specialists provide free developmental, speech, language, hearing, and vision screenings for non-public school children potentially in need of specialized educational services. For more information about screenings and services, click on our Child Find link in the main menu.

In October 2014, we welcomed the SEDNET Region 1 grant. The SEDNET specialist works to provide supports and training for families and educators working with children at-risk for behavioral concerns in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton counties. In August 2015, we welcomed the Florida Inclusion Network (FIN) facilitator. The FIN facilitator primarily works in Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties to develop inclusive educational opportunities for exceptional education students. This includes assisting districts with Flexible Scheduling and the Best Practices in Education (BPIE) instrument, in addition to many professional development opportunities offered in partnership with FDLRS and SEDNET.
